Welp. I definitely binged on beignets during my recent girls trip to NOLA. I had my first foray into these fried, gooey squares of goodness. They're like a sugar powdered donuts, only a little more greasy and doughy. We did two tastings, one at Cafe du Monde and the other at Cafe Beignet. I liked both iterations, but slightly preferred the texture at Cafe du Monde alongside the famous chicory coffee, and liked the atmosphere at Cafe Beignet better (you can sit in an outdoor patio and sip on Champagne--I highly recommend).
Now all I want is to have beignets and swirl on some kind of nutty, chocolatey spread and I'd be a happy camper. Let me know where to the find the best beignets in NYC; I'm on a mission!
