I'm relatively new to the baobab powder craze. I recently started to see this powder pop up in my online searches for health powders and I stumbled upon PandaVita organic baobab powder, which is now my new favorite food/drink additive.
Baobab is a plant-derived powder from an African fruit that contains a bevy of nutrients, including vitamin c, antioxidants, and a punch of fiber.
The powder has a dried strawberry-like scent with a hint of green tea. When mixed with water, there is a slightly tart and sweet-fruit essence flavor. Very mild and pleasant. It's great mixed into water (just two teaspoons) and it's a nice additive in your morning or afternoon smoothie. PandaVita even touts all sorts of healthy and energy-revving recipes that I am anxious to try.
I created a delicious, healthy smoothie that jumpstarts my mornings:
Health Smoothie with Baobab Powder
1 cup almond milk
1 frozen banana
1 tablespoon almond butter
1 tablespoon unsweetened coconut flakes
1-2 kale leaves
1 teaspoon Baobab powder
1 teaspoon of chia seeds
Add ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
